Agile working

Scrum teams

Content design and UX writing work best when they're embedded as part of the design process.

I thrive as part of a scrum team, able to advocate for users in the design phase from a content perspective. I can rapidly prototype content for wireframes and user testing, and work directly in design tools such as Figma or Sketch.

Kanban

I have found Kanban boards to be an invaluable tool in managing complex content workflows. Boards can be set up in digital tools such as Jira, Asana, or Trello – or even physically – and used to track individual deliverables through content stages.

This approach proved especially valuable for tracking regulated content with multiple stakeholders to ensure all approvals and editorial steps had been completed.

Information architecture

Well-structured content removes friction, making it easier for customers to complete their tasks. It also supports SEO and GEO, making it easier for new customers to find you.

I've worked on small site maps for university departments and small businesses, as well as knowledge library taxonomies, and large-scale information architectures for full-site transformations.

On page structure is as important as overall site structure. Content hierarchy, headings, and sentence structure all contribute to the readability of content – both for users and machines. Content modelling can support governance and reusability of content, as well as streamlining production processes.
